More information can be found on the Services for Young People website.

For 14–19 year olds an area prospectus Your Future is a new national website which helps you to make decisions on your future. Like what course or qualification?  What college, school or training provider?

Whilst 14 – 30 year olds can obtain really useful information & help from the Prince's Trust - South East on a whole range of subjects from new careers, jobs & training, setting up a business to community grants and sports.

  • Volunteering

Why not become involved with volunteering, from April 2008 a new national youth volunteering programme commenced, putting the youth back into youth volunteering. It's different because it's led by the interests and passions of young people.

  • Youth of Winchester

Youth of WinchesterYouth of Winchester provides a forum through secondary schools and colleges that is representative of all the young people of Winchester; by coming together, have their voice heard, by people who can make a difference and bring about change for the benefit of all young people in Winchester and the wider communities.

Formed in October 2007 their first AGM was held in December 2008. So far Youth of Winchester (YOW) has representatives from a number of schools, Peter Symonds College and Youth Action Winchester.

Meetings: YOW meets every half term during school time (12-3pm), for elected officers only, but also has an open meeting (to which any young person can attend) from 5pm - 6.15pm, every other month.

By having the 'open meetings' out of school time it will enable all young people who are interested in any of the priorities to be involved and have their voices heard. The meetings will be rotating around the district so that everyone has a chance to get involved.

If this sounds good to you and you want to get involved or you need more information, call Nicola Lawrence at Winchester City Council 01962 848 497. or David Mackie, Winchester Youth Worker  on 01962 876361 email : david.mackie@hants.gov.uk. Alternatively email: yow_pr_team@yahoo.co.uk
