Obtaining Information about public transport is changing fast. In the summer of 2008 Hampshire County Council added signs showing a unique code to each of the bus stop signs erected in our two villages.
This code may be displayed on the flag at the top, on the timetable or even on a separate notice on the pole. The code is different depending on the direction of travel.
The txt4times is a new initiative from Hampshire County Council which allows you to check the times of the next three buses from any stop in Hampshire.
To use txt4times, simply type the stop code as a text message into your mobile phone - and send it to 84268. The cost of the service is 25p, plus your normal cost to send a text message.
If you do not know code for a bus stop you can find the using the Traveline website, Click on 'by place’ then enter your address or postcode.
Click on the bus stop symbol for the direction you want to travel and the code for the stop will be shown, e.g. hamdjdwg. Txt4times allows you to check your bus times before set off on your journey.
Mobile Services
NextBuses is the new way to get the next departures from any bus stop in the UK straight to your mobile phone. It is designed to work on mobile phones that have internet access.
Simply enter www.mytraveline.mobi into your mobile web browser.
Live information is shown where available, otherwise scheduled times are given. The service is free, apart from any data charges made by your mobile operator.
