Following the postponement of this Public Inquiry in August 2010, an Inspector has now been appointed by The Secretary of State to hold a Public Inquiry into the appeal by Cala Homes (South) Ltd against the refusal of Winchester City Council to permit development of 2000 dwellings on approximately 93.1hectares (230 acres) of land at this location.
It will be held at the Winchester Guildhall, High Street, Winchester SO23 9GH, on 8 February 2011 at 10.00am.
The inquiry is expected to last 10 days and will sit 4 days each week. The Public Inquiry procedure does allow for verbal representations to made in a ’Public Session,’ the exact timetable of which will be made known on the opening day of the Inquiry.
All previously submitted comments /objections, some 1500, will be considered by the Planning Inspector as part of the Inquiry process along with evidence from WCC, Cala Homes, HCC, other organisations and individuals at the inquiry itself.
Both Headbourne Worthy and Kings Worthy Parish Council’s objected to this outline planning application in January 2010. Representatives from both Parish Council’s will attend the Public Inquiry.
