In October 2010 Hampshire County Council announced that it was to undertake a review of the Mobile Library Service.
That review has now been completed and significant changes to the service are proposed, with the number of mobile library vans being reduced from 19 to just 6.
Details of the review can be found on this link update on the Mobile Library Review January 2011.
The current Mobile Library Service to the Worthies provides 3 different routes on a fortnightly and monthly basis with a varying stop length depending on the actual location of up to 35 minutes.
Details of the provisional proposed new stops including Kings Worthy can be found on page 10 of Proposed New Stops by District under the Winchester listings.
The review proposals if approved will commence from 1 July 2011.
The Mobile Library Service provided to Kings Worthy and Headbourne Worthy is to be reduced to one visit per 4 weeks and the Mobile Library will only stop at Fraser Road, Kings Worthy.
The vehicle will have a minimum of 20 minutes stop length at this location.
Local residents are able to comment on the Mobile Library Service review, by completing the online form by 14 February 2011. |
