Some parts of the Worthys are susceptible to flooding and the areas that could be affected are shown on Environment Agency flood maps.
To better understand the possible risk of flooding and what to do about it the National Flood Forum is staging a flood protection exhibition as part of Exercise Watermark at the:
Westgate Leisure Centre, Via Ravenna, Chichester, PO19 1RJ
Tuesday 25 January 2011 from 2.30pm – 7pm.
There is no charge for entry and everyone is welcome.
The event will showcase flood protection products for homes and businesses with advice and information from the manufacturers, local flood action groups, the National Flood Forum and various other emergency planning partners including the Environment Agency.
There will be approximately twenty exhibitors and more details of the exhibition can be found here as a PDF.
This event is part of the run up to Exercise Watermark which is a nationwide exercise happening in March 2011 to help local communities develop and test their own community flood plans.
Anyone can register for free and receive an information pack at www.exercisewatermark.co.uk where they will also find further information on the exercise and how they can get involved.
