The New wheelie bin stickers with 2 of the village’s children, Isabella and Luca |
With a 30mph speed limit implemented throughout Headbourne Worthy as part of the ‘Village 30 Project’ Initiative, in September 2008, the villagers have now started putting stickers on their refuse wheelie bins, encouraging drivers to slow down on the village roads.
The large stickers say “Slow Down, think,” and are bright yellow.
The villagers are of the opinion that far too many drivers speed through the Village, even though there are new speed limit signs clearly displayed on the road surfaces and on posts at every entrance to the village.
Pictured are the new wheelie bin stickers with two of the village’s children, Isabella and Luca Gualano, from Down Farm Lane, whose mother Jo suggested this initiative
to the Parish Council.
Distribution of the free stickers to village residents has already started and more will follow on receipt of further supplies from Hampshire County Council. |
