HWPC logoThe Annual Public Meeting took place on Monday 24 May at the Church Rooms, St Mary’s Church, Kings Worthy.

The Annual Parish Public meeting provides an excellent informal opportunity once a year for residents of the village to come along and meet all their parish councillors, as well as their Winchester City and Hampshire County Councillors, the local beat police Safe Neighbourhood Teams and other local bodies representatives.

All of whom provide an update on matters that affect the Parish and can also discuss any concerns or issues residents may have.

The new chairman Councillor David Pearcey chaired the meeting and in his opening remarks he welcomed the four new Parish Councillor’s Claire Welland, Steve Cramoysan, Ray Gorman and Harry Whorwood as well as our Winchester City Councillor Keith Woods, also the Headbourne Worthy Police Safer Neighbourhood Team along with members of the public.

Disappointingly the number of local residents attending was unfortunately some what reduced.

The chairman presented his overview of the Parish Council’s past year.

City Councillor Keith Wood provided an update on the Barton Farm planning application by CALA Homes.

A presentation was made by Steve Lincoln, Winchester City Council, on Parish Plans, their adoption and benefits to the local parish residents. The presentation was followed by a question and answers session on the subject.

The evening concluded with welcome refreshments being served at the close of the meeting.
