Temporary road diversions will be put in place on Nations Hill / Church Lane to allow road maintenance work to be carried out.

The work which will commence on 4 March 2009 is expected to be completed on 7 March.

Road diversion signs have been put in place by Amey, Hampshire County Council’s highway contractor and will remain in place until the work is completed. The Spring' (No 6 bus) and Mervyns Coaches service 95/96 will be diverted via Bedfield Lane, with the bus stops in Nations Hill/Church Lane and London Road being temporarily closed whilst the work is undertaken.

The work was originally planned to be undertaken in early December as part of Hampshire County Council’s additional £1m boost to its ‘Potholes’ Repair Programme.

Unfortunately it had to be delayed due to a number of factors including the recent severe adverse weather.

More delays are also likely on Springvale Road and Nations Hill when essential gas main replacement work commences in mid April 2009.

Affected properties will be notified by Southern Gas Networks prior to work commencing.

Once more details are made available they will be placed on this website.
