 If you intend to spring clean your home or tidy up the garden this month you will have more time to recycle your household and garden items at Winchester’s Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC) at Bar End, Winchester.
The majority Of HWRC’s in Hampshire are now to remain open for extra hour in March.
Previously throughout the winter months they use to close at 4pm but to make the most of the lighter evenings at this time of year, they will remain open till 5pm throughout March.
The extended opening hours in March will make the HWRC service provided by Hampshire County Council more accessible to householders in the Worthys, at what is traditionally one of the busiest times of the year for HWRC’s.
This extension of opening time in March is in addition to the summer opening hours of 8am to 7pm which as usual will commence on 1 April.
Opening hours for the Bar End HWRC are:
- 8 am to 5pm from 1 March - 31 March
- 8am to 7pm from 1 April - 30 September
- 8am to 4pm from 1 October – 28 February
