Following an earlier public exhibition and consultations with the local residents work has now started on the exciting new landscaping to Church Green after the removal of the line of tall conifers to London Road in October 2008.

The work is being undertaken by landscape specialists Holmes & Sons from Littleton on behalf of Kings Worthy Parish Council.

The project has been designed by Chartered Landscape Architects TGD Landscapes Ltd., from Chandlers Ford.

The new look to the area will include:

  • Steel estate type railings to the London Road and Churchyard boundaries.

  • A new wooden bus shelter on London Road together with a new entrance path and steps on to the green.

  • New steps from the green will also be created on to Nuns Walk with additional lighting on this path.

  • Additional tree and shrub planting will also be introduced, with a wild flower area on the churchyard boundary.

  • More seating together with new litter and dog bins

  • General landscaping

The project is expected to be completed by the end of April, when residents will be able to fully enjoy these new facilities at Church Green.
