Due to popular demand a new Rainbow Guide Unit has been opened in Kings Worthy. On Wednesday 3 December the first eight Rainbows made their Guiding promise.

Carole Lawes has volunteered to run the new unit. She is assisted by Louise Keys and Dorothy Cook. Rainbows, aged from five to seven, are the youngest members of Girlguiding UK.

Girlguiding UK is the country’s largest youth organisation for girls and young women with the aim of enabling girls and young women to develop their potential and make a difference to the world.

District Commissioner Sue Brimelow and Division Commissioner Jan Towle were present. Members of the Trefoil Guild made presentations of new activity packs to the girls.

One of the Rainbows said “Rainbows is fun – I really like doing arts and crafts and singing”.
