It includes Minute book of Headbourne Worthy Parish Meeting, 1894-1967, also including minutes of Headbourne Worthy Parish Council, 1955-64, and minutes of Headbourne Worthy and Abbotts Barton Parish Council, 1964-7; minute book of Headbourne Worthy and Abbotts Barton Parish Council, 1967-84, and of Headbourne Worthy Parish Council, 1985-1995, also including minutes of Annual Parish Meetings
Headbourne Worthy Parish Meeting was established in 1894 but no Parish Council was elected at this time.
Under a County Council order of 1934 Headbourne Worthy with Kings Worthy Parish Council was formed, to serve the two parishes, and replacing the former Kings Worthy Parish Council; a separate new Headbourne Worthy Parish Council was established under an order of 1954; between 1964 and 1984 this was known as Headbourne Worthy and Abbotts Barton Parish Council.
It became Headbourne Worthy Parish Council again in 1985.
