Despite all the recent rain and poor weather the summer holidays have arrived.
So why not go along to a new kind of Friday evening when Winchester city centre will be a hive of activity on every Friday evening in August, with live music and entertainment between 4.30pm and 8pm.
If you like live music and food then Winchester city is a place you won't want to leave on summer Friday evenings.
The Buttercross and The Square will be humming with excitement with artists presenting world and folk music, dance, children's activities, street theatre and art displays. Each week will be a little bit different.
But it's family-friendly and completely free.
The first Friday saw live music from bands The Ashbies and Tinderbox, comedy from the pink street theatre, and some daring acrobatic displays.
The next week saw more live music in the Square and mind bending tricks from magician Alex Whitwell plus some Indian and Chinese dance and the chance to have a go yourselves in the drop in Chinese dance workshop.
Friday 14th will include Spanish Flemenco, the haunting music of Eastern Europe and a 6 piece jazz band. Even a drop-in circus skills workshop, with juggling, tight rope walking or plate spinning all taught by experienced professionals – and its FREE!
There will also be an Open Busk in the High Street, which will lead to a finale on the last Friday, 28th August. Open Busk is a chance for anyone to get up and play or sing in the street.
Each Friday will be totally different, together with fine food, drink and good company it will kick off your summer weekends perfectly.
