New Gas Safety Changes in the Home

This page was last updated on Saturday, April 25, 2009

Gas Safety Register logoFrom 1 April 2009 if you are having gas installations, servicing or repairs to any gas appliances in your home or business the work must be undertaken by a Gas Safe Register engineer.

The previously well known CORGI registered installer scheme is no longer valid or legal and has been replaced by the Gas Safe Register.

The new branding will be seen more and more on gas engineer’s vehicles, on their ID cards, in the media and on bill boards.

Before any gas work is carried out, always make sure you ask to see their Gas Safe Register ID card.

You can check what work they are qualified to do before you employ them.
