An outline planning application 08/01051/OUT, dated 29 April 2008 has been submitted to Winchester City Council by developers Parsons & Joyce, to develop 62 mixed housing units on land behind 155 Springvale Road.
This will be the first phase, with the whole proposed development site is bounded by Mount Pleasant, the A34, Springvale Road and Nations Hill.
The proposals include for a pedestrian link from Mount Pleasant to Willis Waye, with a children’s play area on the green there.
The proposed site is predominantly within Headbourne Worthy but Kings Worthy residents are also very much affected particularly those in Willis Waye and Mount Pleasant.
Both Headbourne Worthy and Kings Worthy Parish Councils received a large number of objections from concerned residents.
Headbourne Worthy Parish Council held an EGM on 10 June, to discuss the proposals and the concerns of many residents from the village, a large number of which attended the meeting.
Both parish councils have submitted letters of objection to Winchester City Council and these can be viewed in the minute’s section for each parish council on this website. The date for submission of comments on the application has now past.
At the present time Winchester City Council has made no decision on the application. Details will be made available on this website once known, as well as being available in more detail on the City Council website.
