RA/10/25 Apologies for Absence

Apologies had been received from Cllr Welstead.

RA/10/26 Public Question Time

None

RA/10/27 Minutes of the Meeting held on the 4 March 2010

The minutes were agreed as true record of the meeting and were signed by Cllr Sign.

RA/10/28 Matters Arising from the Meeting of the 4 March 2010

None

RA/10/29 Burial Ground – Registrar’s Report

Members noted the registrar’s quarterly report on the Burial Ground

RA/10/30 Project Updates

The clerk tabled a project status report [Copy attached].

  • Eversley Park All Weather Pitch/Youth Shelter – Cllr Marshall reported on the consultation meeting which had been held with users. Although only two youths had attended, the ideas put forward were very positive. They suggested that the area should be also marked for girl’s games.

It was agreed that contact be made with the games teacher at Henry Beaufort School for her advice on marking the area. Action – the clerk

They were very keen to have a new youth shelter and suggested that it be located adjacent to the WSSC to improve security.

  • Eversley Park Car Park Landscaping – the clerk was asked to chase Scandor for the completion of this work. Action – the clerk

  • Burial Ground Landscaping – the clerk informed members that he had forwarded details to two contractors for quotations for the work. Action -the clerk

RA/10/31 Grounds Maintenance Contract

The clerk had prepared a draft contract which he had forwarded to the Grounds Supervisor for comment.

RA/010/32 Newsletter

Cllr Sign thanked Cllr White for her efforts in producing the latest edition of the newsletter. The clerk had arranged for its distribution. Members expressed concerns that it should not be distributed with any political leaflets. Action – the clerk

 

Cllr Sign also thanked Cllr White for organising the recent litter pick within the village.

RA/10/33 Website

Members suggested that this item and the newsletter should appear quarterly on the agenda. Action – the clerk

RA/10/34 Burial Ground and Pitch Fees for 2010/11

Under the National Code of Local Government Conduct, Cllr White declared an interest in the Worthys Youth Football Club and withdrew from the meeting.

 

Members discussed the level of fees for this year.

 

The clerk informed members that WCC had increase burial fees by 8.5%.

 

After giving consideration to the cost of the maintenance work undertaken in both areas and that no increase was applied last year, members agreed that the fees be increased by 4% broadly in line with Inflation. Action – the clerk

RA/10/35 Village Fete – KWPC Stall

Members discussed the option of having a stall at the village fete and agreed that it would be desirable to maintain the profile of the PC.

 

Several ideas were put forward. It was agreed that a map of the village mounted on a board with photographs of the projects undertaken within the village, together with a competition to identify the areas should be pursued. Action Cllrs Cox, Marshall, White and Young.

The clerk was asked to inform the fete organisers. Action – the clerk

RA/10/36 School Travel Plan

Cllr White shared with members several ideas relating to the school travel plan. These included possible upgrades to the paths surrounding Eversley Park and using paths for cycling. Members agreed that widening the path at Eversley Park between Campion Way and the school was desirable. However changing the regulations to allow cycling on paths would be difficult.

 

Cllr Young highlighted the need for a footpath on Nations Hill between Lynn Way and the school.

RA/10/37 Clerk’s Notices

  • Church Green Sign – Members approved the quotation from Scandor to erect the sign at Church Green. Action – the clerk

  • Eversley Park Mini-Soccer Pitches – Members approved the request from the Worthys Youth Football Club to hold a tournament on the 3 May 2010. Action – the clerk

  • Church Green – Members approved the request from the 3rd Winchester Scouts to hold an event on the evening of the 25 May 2010 without charge. The clerk was asked to remind them that barbeques are not permitted. Action – the clerk
