P/10/69 Apologies for Absence

Apologies for absence had been received from Cllrs Andrew-Power and Warrener.

P/10/70 Public Question Time

  • Flashing Speed Warning Signs – the one member of the public asked as to the progress being made on the installation of these signs.

Cllr Gordon indicated that two options were being explored; one where villages shared the cost of the equipment, however this was proving to be expensive; the other involved the police equipment at no cost. The police had already undertaken checks and found only one motorist to be exceeding the limit and several using mobile phones

P/10/71 Minutes of the Meeting held on the 30 June 2010

The minutes were agreed as a true record of the meeting and they were signed by Cllr Gordon.

P/10/61 Matters Arising from the Meeting of the 30 June 2010

  • P/10/59 Abbots Worthy House – the various letters and responses to and from the applicant had been circulated to members. Cllr Gordon expressed his concerns that although the applicant was given every opportunity to speak, he was still unhappy that members had referred the matter to the WCC Planning Control Committee. Cllr Gordon had also been challenged when removing an inaccurate letter from the notice board in Abbots Worthy. Members again endorsed their action from the previous meeting.

  • P/10/67 Willis Waye – Cllr Gordon confirmed that the work had started on this development. There were concerns that vehicles were blocking the road and in a recent incident an ambulance attending an emergency had to mount the kerb and drive over the green with its lights flashing with the patient onboard.

P/10/75 Enforcement Notices advised since the last meeting

Members noted the latest listing from WCC.

Cllr Gordon is hopeful that the driveway access at 70 Fraser Road will shortly be resolved between WCC and HCC.

With regard to the concerns at Tesco Express, the matter is now being handled by a senior manager at WCC.

Cllr Gordon shared with members his concerns with regard to the erection of a domestic wind turbine at the mobile caravan opposite 158 Lovedon Lane. WCC had objected on three occasions to the dwelling to replace the mobile home. The PC had supported the application and now the City Council were objecting to the wind turbine for providing electricity.
