Peter Warrener
Denis Welstead

Clerk: Colin Arnett

Public: 3

P/10/45 Apologies for Absence

Apologies for absence had been received from Cllrs Jacobs and Sign.

P/10/46 Public Question Time

Presentations were made by the following prospective applicants;

  • Richard White – Prince’s Mead School – outlined a proposed conservatory extension to extend a reception class classroom giving improved access to the playground. Members gave their general support to the plans.

They also wish to install a double tennis/netball court; however the WCC Conservation Officer has concerns regarding the fencing. They have investigated movable fencing without success as it would cause difficulties with evening bookings. Cllr Gordon suggested that they emphasise to WCC the amenity value to the local community. He also suggested that it may be reasonable for the Parish to ask for the plan to be considered by the committee.

  • Chris Herridge and Mark Oakley outlined the revised proposal for Red Marley on Nations Hill. Members supported the reduction in the number of dwellings; however they were concerned with the second access driveway onto Nations Hill. They expressed some surprise that the Highway Authority had made no comment on what was considered to be a dangerous bend.

P/10/47 Minutes of the Meeting held on the 28 April 2010

The minutes were agreed as a true record of the meeting with one amendment - P/10/38 to read “Cllr Warrener had arranged a meeting for Cllr Gordon with Simon Finch to discuss recent issues such as this” - and they were signed by Cllr Gordon.

P/10/48 Matters Arising from the Meeting of the 28 April 2010

  • P/10/41 Grit Bins – the clerk reported that he had received an acknowledgement from HCC that our listing had been received for consideration.

  • P/10/43 Garages at Tesco – Cllr Gordon had raised the problems at his meeting with Simon Finch.

  • P/10/43 Pit at Ramsay Road – Cllr Gordon reported that this was now included on the WCC Enforcement Listing.
