RA/09/06 Project Updates

The clerk tabled a project status report [Copy attached].

  • Eversley Park – Car Park – Cllr Sign reported that WCC had approved the monies for filling the pot-holes from Open Space funding.

  • Eversley Park - Path to School – Members discussed in detail the appeals for a path across Eversley Park and the results of the recent survey undertake at the school gate. They recommend approval for a path as a safer route to school.

The widening of the top path with an adjoining path from the car park was the agreed option as it gave a safer route than the centre path. Apart from it being more aesthetically pleasing, there is no adjacent slope which could be a danger to young children and the high hedge would act as a shelter from the wind and other adverse weather conditions. It would also encourage access from the Gillingham Close/Cedarwood entrance.

  • Church Green – Cllr Sign reported that WCC had approved the funding for the scheme from Open Space monies. Members agreed that the bylaws should be displayed to deter any inappropriate use of the area.

  • Equipment for the Over 60’s – the tenders for the project had been received. A meeting is to be scheduled with the preferred contractor. Action – the clerk

  • Firs Crescent – the contractor is to undertake the planting schedule after the school holidays.

  • Open Space Funding 2009/10 – a letter had been received from WCC requesting a list of proposed improvements. Members agreed to include the following; Over 60’s Exercise Equipment, Eversley Park Kick-about Area and Youth Shelter, Top Field Playground and Over 60’s equipment, and Castle Rise Landscaping.
