Minutes of the Meeting held on Thursday, 3rd September 2009

Presentation by John and Jaki Brown [TLC] & Dennis Curling [Headbourne Worthy PC] on the Worthies Website

A presentation was given to members on the website, outlining the development and ethos of the project. Particular emphasis was placed on the site to remain dynamic with the need for a parish councillor to take on the role of co-ordinator for Kings Worthy, together with the funding of an RSS feed. Members supported the initiative to submit the website for the ALC and Hantsnet awards.

Cllr Sign thanked them for an excellent presentation and for answering member’s questions which had clarified many of the outstanding issues.

RA/09/67 Minutes of the Meeting held on the 2 July 2009

The minutes were agreed as true record of the meeting were signed by Cllr Sign.

RA/09/68 Matters Arising from the Meeting of the 2 July 2009

  • RA/09/58 Parish Plan – Climate Change – Cllr Welstead sought further clarification from members on the way forward for initiatives on climate change. He agreed to compile a paper outlining the issues and an appraisal of the options for discussion at the next meeting. Action – Cllr Welstead

RA/09/69 Website

Members discussed the presentation given to them. They agreed that the clerks should act as co-ordinators and that articles for publication should be channelled through the parish office. Action – the clerks

 

They remained unconvinced as to the need for an RSS feed and agreed not the recommend the funding.

RA/09/70 Project Updates

The clerk tabled a project status report [Copy attached].

  • Eversley Park – All Weather Court – Members agreed that this should remain as the priority project as and when funding is available.

 

RA/09/71 Newsletter

Cllr White informed members that she now had the software to compile the next newsletter. Members put forward suggestions for the next edition.

RA/09/72 Eversley Park – Football Pitches

The clerk informed members that the only additional teams to play for the coming season were Winchester City Woman. They were in discussion with the WSSC and the junior football to develop the facilities at the club.

RA/09/73 Play Area Inspection Report

Cllr Sign tabled the annual report and members agreed that she and the clerk should action the recommendation. Action – Cllr Sign/the clerk

 

Members agreed with Cllrs Sign and Marshall on our disappointment over the poor quality of the Over 60s equipment from Wicksteed.

RA/09/74 Clerk’s Notices

  • Lovedon Lane Bus Shelter – the clerk had circulated a quotation to repair the bus shelter on Lovedon Lane opposite Edinburgh Road.

    Members agreed to defer the repair for the present.

  • Budget 2010-11 – Cllr Sign and the clerk agreed to present a draft budget to the next meeting for approval.
