RA/08/82 Apologies for Absence

Apologies for absence had been received from Cllr Marshall. Cllr Sign welcomed the Chairman of the Parish Council, Cllr Warrener, to the meeting.

RA/08/83 Public Question Time

The member of the public in attendance wished to have an update on the equipment for the Over 60’s.

RA/08/84 Minutes of the Meeting held on 9 July 2008.

The minutes were agreed as a true record of the meeting and were signed by Cllr Sign.

RA/08/85 Matters Arising from the Meeting of the 9 July 2008

 

RA/08/74 Fryers Close – the clerk reported that he was still pursuing the maintenance schedule for the area with WCC. Action – the clerk

WCC had confirmed that the usage of the dog bin in Fraser Road was low and that it could be moved to Fryers Close. Members asked the clerk to cost the options for moving the bin or installing a new bin, for consideration at the next meeting. Action – the clerk

 

RA/08/80 Bus Stops – Cllr Warrener reported that HCC are to replace the two rusty bus stops on Ramsay Road and Pound Road.

 

RA/08/80 Plastic bags – the clerk was awaiting feedback via HALC on initiatives undertaken by other PC’s to restrict the use of plastic bags. Action – the clerk

RA/08/86 Project Updates

The clerk tabled a project status report [Copy attached].

Eversley ParkNew Playground Equipment – the positive feedback on the new equipment had been encouraging.

Eversley ParkAll Weather Court – Members agreed that the priority of this project should be increased to 1.

Eversley Park – Youth Shelter and Play Equipment for Older Children – Cllr Sign reported back on the visit to Selsey. The equipment would not be suitable for Eversley Park and members agreed that this should be deleted from the project listing.

Church Green – Members approved the final plans and proposals from the Landscape Architect and asked the clerk to confirm their acceptance, and to apply for OSF for the additional fee to co-ordinate the tendering process and oversee the work on site. Action – the clerk

Parish Office Notice Board – Cllr Cox confirmed that she will attend the THMC meeting on the 27 September 2008 to discuss their contribution towards a new notice board.

Broadview – Wild Flower Area – Members decided to remove this from the project listing until they have an opportunity to monitor the naturally occurring wild flowers in the area next spring.

 

Bus Shelters – Members endorsed the fitting of new panels at the rear of the shelter in Springvale Road.

 

London Road Triangle – Wild Flowers – Members agreed that this should be included in the project listing and asked the clerk to investigate options. Action – the clerk

RA/08/87 Future Projects

Cllr Sign asked members to consider new projects for Open Space Funding for discussion at the next meeting.

 

Cllr James suggested that this should be co-ordinated with the proposed Parish Plan

RA/08/88 Web-site

Cllr James was delighted to report that the web-site was now functioning. Members who had viewed the site were impressed with both the design and content. Cllr James indicated that the site access had to be completed to allow access through a “search engine”. Approval and credits will be left to the next PC meeting.

RA/08/89 Newsletter

The latest edition of the newsletter was being distributed. Cllr Sign thanked Cllr James for her efforts. It was agreed that the next publication would be in November 2008. Cllr White had agreed to assist Cllr James, with on-going liaison with the printers through Derek Brockway.

RA/08/90 Clerks Notices

Eversley Park - Clothing Recycling Bank – a request had been received from the Marie Curie Charity to site a clothing recycling bank in the car park adjacent to the WSSC at Eversley Park. Members considered that the decision should be made at PC.

RA/08/91 Chairman’s Notices

2008/9 PC Budget – Cllr Sign asked members to consider items to be included within the 2008/9 budget for discussion at the next meeting.

Litter Pick – Members agreed that a litter pick within the village in the spring would be desirable and that an article should be included within the next newsletter asking for volunteers. Action - Cllrs James/White

RA/08/92 Date of next meeting

The next meeting was scheduled at 7.30 pm on the 8 October 2008.

The meeting closed at 9.05 pm.
