RA/07/29 Apologies for Absence

Apologies for absence were received from Cllr Howell.

RA/07/30 Minutes of the Meeting held on 21 March 2007.

The minutes were agreed as a true record of the meeting and were signed by Cllr Sign.

RA/07/31 Public Question Time

None

RA/07/32 Matters Arising from the Meeting of the 21 March 2007

RA/07/23 Football – Members discussed the suggested pitch maintenance schedule which had been received from Andrew Court. Cllr Sign informed members that the schedule had been given to our newly appointed Grounds Supervisor for comment. Members again raised their concerns regarding some of the demands from junior football.


It was agreed that the clerk should formally write to Andrew Court following the receipt of the report from Kelvin Mason and thereafter a meeting be arranged with the Treasurer of the junior football to discuss funding for the forthcoming season.

RA/07/27 Broadview – Cllr Sign informed members that one of the houses which we were given to understand formed part of the new development adjacent to the top of Broadview had a for sale notice.

RA/07/33 Burial Ground and Registrar’s Report

The Registrar’s report was circulated and accepted by members.

 

Cllr Sign informed members that the fees had been increased in line with those of WCC as agreed.

RA/07/34 Project Updates

  • Burial Ground – An urn had been purchased for the centre of the crematoria area to complete the project.

  • Eversley Park – A preliminary meeting had been arranged with a representative of a playground equipment supplier to discuss options for the children’s playground.

    A quotation had been sought for installing new basketball posts and re-marking the area.

  • Firs Crescent – a letter had been distributed to all residents updating them on the landscaping project.

  • Fryers Close – the clerk was asked to obtain a status report from the landscape architect.

  • Fraser Road Children’s Play Area – members had visited the site and compiled a preliminary listing of desirable new equipment.

  • Hinton Fields – the Grounds Supervisor has been asked to comment on the work required on the trees and shrubs.

  • Church Green – Members confirmed that the fete could be held on Church Green if ownership had passed to the PC or Eversley Park. Consideration should be given to the provision of power and water to the area.

  • Notice Boards – the Finance Committee had asked for additional quotations for the new notice boards to ensure that the PC was securing value for money.
    Action – the clerk

  • Bus Shelters – Cllr Brockway reported on the site meeting with the WCC advisor on conservation areas. The clerk was asked to research options from suppliers for the new shelter.

  • Newsletter – Cllr James shared with members the draft format of the next newsletter.

  • Rights of Way – Cllr Brockway is to meet with John Taylor to clarify the ownership issues relating to Kim Bishop Walk.


RA/07/35 Clerks Notices

Springvale Road – 30 mph Speed Limit – a response had been received from HCC acknowledging the request for a 30 mph speed limit.

RA/07/36 Chairman’s Notices

Henry Beaufort School Multi-Use Games Area – a request had been received from the school’s Business Development Manager asking for a financial contributions towards the project.

 

The clerk was asked to clarify with WCC whether OSF monies could be used for such a donation. Action – the clerk

RA/07/37 Date of next meeting

The next meeting was scheduled at 7.30 pm on the 9 May 2007.

The meeting closed at 9.27 pm.
