P/07/75 Apologies for Absence
Apologies for absence had been received from Cllrs Culhane, Pidduck and Welstead. Cllr Lomas had resigned from the Parish Council. The Chairman welcomed Cllr Cox to the committee.
P/07/76 Public Question Time
Neil Holmes and Simon Reid of Quayside Architects gave a presentation on their revised application for the development of 122-126 Lovedon Lane. Members noted that the proposed number of dwellings was now 19 and that the overall height had been reduced together with more green areas. The path on Upper Broadview had also been included on the plans.
Members asked questions on the carbon footprint and energy saving features included in the development.

Members expressed their concerns regarding the increase in traffic through Abbots Worthy. There is often congestion on the B3047 due to the school not fulfilling the conditions of the original planning conditions whereby pupils would be bused to school.
It is suggested that a traffic survey should be undertaken before permission is granted.

P/07/81 Clerk’s Notices
- Court Road – Members had received a briefing paper from Cllr Pidduck detailing the dismissal of the three appeals at the Public Inquiry.
- WCC Planning Enforcement – Members agreed that the clerk could complete a questionnaire from WCC on this service. WCC had also arranged a meeting on the 8 January 2008 for councillors wishing to give feedback.
- 14 Springvale Road – Replacement Bus Shelter – Cllr Johnston had highlighted the 106 Agreement for a new shelter with WCC.
P/07/82 Chairman’s Notices
- Abbots Worthy House – Cllr Cox raised concerns regarding the sale of this property and the misleading planning options. Cllr Cox agreed to keep a watching brief on developments.
- HAPTC Planning Workshop 7 February 2008 – Cllrs James asked the clerk to establish more details on this event.
Action – the clerk
- For Sale/Sold Signs – Cllr Warrener expressed his concerns regarding the number of redundant boards around the parish. Cllr James suggested that this was a matter for the local estate agents to resolve.
