PC (Police Constable) Don Hagger and PCSO (Police Community Support Officer)
Sarah Brazier, the local officers covering Headbourne Worthy, attended and stated crime was almost non existent in the area but asked that residents still remained vigilant.
They expressed concern about bogus callers especially tarmacers and odd job people. Do not let people do work for you without a written quote and some form of proper identification. (The local authority keep a register of authorized workmen).
They are aware of the council’s priorities of fly tipping, especially in Down Farm Lane and excess speed throughout the village. If you seen any suspicious vehicles please try and get the registration number.

Councillor Pearcey spoke about Neighbourhood Watch and the whole village is covered by NHW.
The parish council had arranged two speakers for the meeting, the first of whom was
Mike Hollis from CHIPS (Community History Partnership) who came along and gave a very interesting talk on a new project for Hampshire in which they hope to get the history of the County more accessible and available to all sectors and people.
There is a lot of history stored within various history societies, councils, schools, and many other organisations which CHIPS are trying to arrange to be available for everybody.

The second speaker was Ali Morse from Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust who gave a presentation about the works of the Wildlife Trust and also the Itchen Navigation Heritage Trail Project which is a 5 year lottery funded programme aimed at repairing and preserving an important part of Hampshire’s heritage.
The Wildlife Trust is also involved in the Winnal Moors project.
