The Jubilee Hall is the village hall situated in London Road, Kings Worthy SO23 7QN, on the edge of Church Green. This much loved and well used building was erected in 1935 in commemoration of King George V’s Silver Jubilee. The hall boasts a stage, which few other halls in the area possess, and is the largest hall available for village activities and functions.
The building was refurbished in 2002 and and in September 2008 the kitchen was refurbished to a high standard with new cooking facilities, fridges, crockery and cutlery.
The Hall is run by an annual elected Committee with guardianship vested in three Trustees, one of whom is always the Rector. There have always been links between the Church and the Hall, with teas at the annual Church Fete, being served there.
The building is very popular and regular sessions are held by many local groups, other events such as wedding receptions, family parties, cycling groups, as well as more formal events including local and general elections and seminars are also hosted.
The building is licensed for the performance of plays and music, but is not licensed to sell alcohol. The main hall can accommodate up to 100 people and the adjoining small Committee Room can seat up to 12.
